March

"I like to move it move it."  will.i.am

Happy March.

May you march into your best body.

I have three words on the bottom of every email I send out.  They are "Breathe.  Stretch.  Smile."

If you already move your body, you are using your breath and increasing oxygen in your body.  I want to believe at some point, you are smiling.  Smiling because you are doing something good for You.  Smiling because you feel good.  Smiling just because you can choose to.  I have never heard anyone say they were sorry that they exercised and/or smiled.  Go You.

It feels good to stretch our muscles and ligaments when we do it in a way that 'it feels good'.

May you get to know your body and what type of movement feels best to it.  Dare I say even has fun with it...   Exercise increases our 'happy hormones'.

Whether you've been moving for some time or are just starting out, cross training - doing more than one type of movement/activity - is going to open up your body and make your body its happiest.

If you haven't begun mindfully moving on a regular basis, may I offer to just march in place for five minutes.  Often once started, there is a desire to keep going.  It is okay if you start with just a few minutes.  Your body will thank you.  You can reach up to the sky.  You can reach down past your toes (shoot for this).  You can move side to side.  You can move forward a few steps and back a few steps.  The bigger the steps, the more energy you will expend.  Stay true to what is possible for You.  The most important thing is that as you do it today, you do it again and again and again.  Keep moving on a regular basis.  The regularity of you moving is what will enhance your health, your mood and your energy.

This March, I wish you your kind of movement that brings you more alive; from your head to your toes.

May you get to the point where your whole body vibrates with gratitude and happiness by moving it.

Start where you are and go at your own pace.  Honor your body.  Just move it through stretching, marching, dancing, yoga, swimming, walking, hiking, weight bearing, etc.  Whatever brings you to feeling alive through strengthening and loving your body.. do that.  Start small.  Keep going.

May you surprise yourself as you move into the joy of movement.  Oh, it feels so good.  If it does not, perhaps, you are too hard on yourself and you just may be in your mind more than you are in your body.  Listen to your body.  It will talk to you.  It will guide you.

I wish you the joy of being in your body and moving it on a continuous and steady journey forward.

May you 'march' on.
