We Will Do Better When We Know Better

Okay, so I learned more lessons yesterday.  I am not superwoman (although I know you are surprised)!  I forgot to listen to my body; my inner voice.  I got caught up in the Christmas preparations and just pushed forward.

Pretty big mistake for me.  Today, my bed is calling me.  I will answer and visit it.  I'm at the point where I HAVE to.

I am hoping for gentler guidance and quicker response to my inner knowing each and every day.

You know you got it when it makes you feel good.  Thus, You know you DON'T have it when you have nothing left to give...

Humans.   This is what some of us do.

I want to do better because I certainly know better.  Apparently, yesterday I did not OR I certainly chose to go back to my old way of doing things.  Don't really want to do that again.

Where are you at with knowing and doing better?  Get it, Got it, Do it   I say.

Can we Talk (Christmas) Balls?

I'm definitely not sure (what?-definitely not sure?) if I want to talk about the balls.  If I want to be this true.

deep breath

Just got done hanging the balls on the tree.  Did take me some time.  I am exhausted and feeling dumb and frustrated.

Just to open the boxes, the way they 'cling' together is a chore.  Then to get the balls out of the box.  They fit snugly so if I pull by the hook, sometimes the top pulls off.  To get the top back on with the way the two prongs have to be squeezed into the hole is very hard for my fingers.  The hook gets stuck holding on to the box and makes the ball harder to get out.  I put my finger underneath the ball to push it up and out.  To grab the ball around it's circumference and gently lift the ball out of the box isn't happening for me.  A 'thorn' of a tree branch went right into one of my ulcers on my fingers.  Ouch.

Not only was screaming and stomping happening; crying came this time as well.  My one big dog, poor thing, went out back.

Now, most of the time, I had Christmas music on, my dogs lying around the tree and peace was in the air.

And, it was in a few instances, all of the other stuff happened.  It was like a out of control roller coaster.  Just to put balls on the Christmas tree; my goodness.  (I think I forgot about accepting what is during this time.)

I told myself I was doing this because I enjoyed it.  I asked myself why we do all this work.  I wanted to call someone and ask them to tell me again why we do all this work for one day?

I know it's about the season.  I know I find it beautiful and somewhat enchanting.  I know I love sitting in the dark with Christmas lights on. I know it's about Jesus' birth.  I know it's about love and giving and receiving.

I know I feel blessed when I see my family smiling.

This is why I do it.  I hope that next year will be easier for my fingers.  If not, I hope I can give myself more of a break and not feel guilty if I don't do it all at once or in a timely manner or even at all.  Stop when I hurt and come back to it later, when I'm calmer; renewed.

Do I love that the tree is up - you betcha.  Do I wish I'd been easier on myself - you betcha.

Out.

Are you giving yourself the time you need to enjoy this season?  If so, good for you; that's what it's all about.  If not, what do you need to do to find enjoyment?

New York City, NY's Christmas Tree 2009.

Hey, good thing I didn't have to put balls on that tree.  I never would have made it!  Ha.

Putting Up the Tree!

I'd like to share my experience and thoughts with putting lights on my tree.  Just the lights....  Oh my.

So I have six strings of lights on.  Didn't really take me long.  However, they are new lights; so just to open the boxes (would not have been able to do it without a knife), undo the twisty, open the strings up; I heard myself screaming and stomping my foot.  Kept hitting the ulcers on my fingers.  Hey, I DID IT, though!

So, I have the six strings on the tree and I stopped at three strands and hooked up a three way electric adapter and continued with the other three strands.   Got to the bottom, realized I didn't have a plug to plug into an outlet.  Wrong end.  Scream/stomp.

Okay, got an electric cord with multiple openings and replaced this with what I had originally put there and got myself the plug I needed to plug into the wall.  Then got the timer and screamed and stomped at not being able to pull the timer 'stoppers' out of the timer to put them on the time I needed the timer to work.  Eventually grabbed them, dropped them, picked them up, but, I DID IT!  I'm so close to plugging this in and seeing the beautiful lights.   My anticipation is building....

I plug the cord into the timer (after having a hard time unplugging the cord's own plug from itself -- it took me approximately 2 minutes -- it was stored this way) and go to put the timer into the wall and realize that the way the cord plug rests on the side of the timer, it sticks out too much that the timer won't fit into the wall!  LOL  (although I wasn't laughing then).

So, I got the first multiple adapter that I originally used and plugged that into the wall first and the timer then was able to be plugged in.  Hip Hip Hooray.  Let there be light!

I DID IT.  My goal was accomplished.

While I was doing all this, what came to my mind was 'just think of all the screaming, stomping and frustration that might be going on today and all this 'energy' going into the world.'  WOW.  How does this 'energy' compare to if we were all singing and laughing and really being merry and all that energy going out to the world instead.

I wondered if the people from Germany, Russia or Croatia and all around the world could hear me screaming and stomping.

Oh, yes, where my mind does wander....

I am hoping that the 'energy' you are putting out into the world is the positive and happy u more often than not.

I will continue to strive to put my 'merry' out to you more than my 'bah humbug'!

Then, I think.  "well, it is all energy once it gets out there and I hope others pick it up as positive, happy, BE U energy."

OK, I'm going back to the tree!  Aren't you glad I'm done here?  ha.

I Used to Think

I used to think 'Get it done, then you can relax'.  Now I think 'Relax, you'll get it done'.

I used to think everyone was watching me.  Now I think people are doing their own thing and too busy and involved with what they are doing to worry about what I'm doing; generally speaking.

I used to think that I would feel embarrassed if someone saw me at a fast food restaurant.  Now I think if someone sees me at a fast food restaurant, it's because they are there too!

I used to think that I was the bad or wrong person in alot of situations.  Now I think that I react to my life situations and what I believe stems from what I've experienced and what I know and who I am and it is right for me.  I try to stay open for new lessons.

I used to believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they know with each situation they are in at the moment.  I still believe this.

I used to believe that I was free to do whatever I want, with whoever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want AND life will change.   Now I believe I am stuck and life will change.

What do you believe?  Is it working for you?  ha!

Listen to Your Inner Knowing

I learned this lesson today.

If you don't feel at ease, there is a reason.  It is not your imagination and what your feeling isn't wrong.

It's true for you and that is all that matters.

Now, what are you going to do about it?  What is your goal in this moment?  Rock it!

Merry (S)Elf

Be your merry (S)elf today!

Be U.

....because there is no one else like you.

Take your Elf and be Your (s)elf!

You Know You Got It If It Makes You Feel Good!  If not, get off or change your path.  NOW.

Good Luck.

Perhaps, too much Christmas 'cheer' is not a good idea!  ha.  oh boy!

Balance at Christmas

The best gift I can give myself is the  balance of joy, love, fun, work, play and doing good for others and doing good for myself.

I'd like to achieve the best healthy balance in the above things that I have ever achieved during the Christmas/Holiday Season.

I believe doing good for others is quite a bit higher percentage during this season.  This feels right for me.

I want to give to others and I want to not lose myself.  This is my gift that I choose to give my world this season.  I want to know how.  I will work to know how.  I will strive to stay with each moment and enjoy what I'm doing since I'm the one choosing to do it.

Do you know what gift you can give to your world for it to be a most comfortable place for you?  Which, in turn, makes it (I believe) a most comfortable place for all who know you.
