Spoiled

After writing my blog and feeling it about me being spoiled; I was reading a book and the word spoiled came up saying it meant meaning willfull and manipulating.

I then looked it up in the dictionary.  Below is what I found.

to damage severely or harm (something), especially with reference to its excellence, value, usefulness, etc.:
to diminish or impair the quality of; affect detrimentally

to impair, damage, or harm the character or nature of (someone) by unwise treatment, excessive
    indulgence, etc

Archaic . to strip (persons, places, etc.) of goods, valuables, etc.; plunder; pillage; despoil.
Archaic . to take or seize by force.

The archaic description 'to strip of goods, valuables, etc' is quite the opposite of the modern time description of  'excessive indulgence'.

I never really liked the word 'spoiled' before as far as people go.  I'm thinking that entitled might be a word to use.  I'm always thinking that we really ALL are entitled to happiness and what the world would be like if we wanted/allowed/helped 'entitled happiness' for each other as well.

There's got to be a way for us all to encourage happiness throughout mankind.  We don't have to agree what happiness is.  It would be nice if we could figure out a way to allow others what they feel and come from a place of love and trust and respect of one another.  The POWER is within this, I believe.

I can hear alot of people thinking 'Dream On' and to this I say 'Okay, I will".  Ha.

DREAM ON  -  What a great song!  Aerosmith
